How to Recover Google Rankings: Make a Successful Reconsideration Request

You happily entrust SEO work to a so called SEO expert and sit back or go about your business hoping your website will rise in rankings and get you the much desired and hoped for traffic. Traffic does arrive but so does a notice from Google Webmaster that could read

“Google has detected a pattern of artificial or unnatural links pointing to your site. Buying links or participating in link schemes in order to manipulate Page Rank are violations of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. As a result, Google has applied a manual spam action to Www.yoursitename.com/. There may be other actions on your site or parts of your site.”

This is disaster. Possibly your SEO expert may have used means not entirely to Google’s approval but there it is: you face being “banned” and losing your rankings as well as being black listed.

There is a way out of this situation. You can analyze back links, remove links found unacceptable by Google and then reapproach Google to inform them of action taken and request their reconsideration. Just how exactly do you go about analyzing back links? This time around get the help of an expert and list all such back links, request those sites to remove your links and if a request does not work, send a notice. You should be able to resolve most undesirable back links. The methods are better explained in an infographic I have obtained from Gryffin.com. Do this, get reinstated (hopefully) and then go about your routine business again.  The infographic appears below.
